We hope you have your schedule clear on September 16th. You’re going to need as much time as you can manage to spare that day. For that is the day that Finnish synthpop magicians Villa Nah will release their second album Ultima. You’ll need that time for dancing, staring broodingly out the window, and reminiscing on your goth-leaning past. You know, when you insisted on wearing black on the outside because black was how you felt on the inside?
Juho Paalosmaa and Tomi Hyyppä would like to bring back those early days when pioneers like Soft Cell, Cabaret Voltaire, and Chrisma were opening listeners up to new possibilities in pop and dance music. It’s knowing nostalgia but these boys do it so very well. They’ve managed that fine balance between being completely romantic and completely depressed about the lack of romance in your life. So, cancel all your appointments, break out the dark sunglasses, and pretend it’s 1983 all over again with us and Villa Nah.
