The new single from Sarah Lewis, the artist otherwise known as LEW, somehow manages to feel as dynamic as any quiet/loud/quiet rock song while never really changing mood or volume. It’s all baked into the starts and stops, and those moments when the music gets suffused with open air. So when the melody kicks back into gear and Lewis moans and whimpers over it with that fairly incredible singing voice of hers, you feel like the bottom just dropped out beneath your feet and you’re soaring peacefully towards the ground. This feeling is matched second for second by a collage of public domain footage, edited together by director Jonas Bang and projected over LEW while she plays every bit of emotion out on her strong yet delicate face. If you like this as much as we do, look for her album Black Feathers, which arrives in the world on April 22nd.
