There’s something about the inclusion of trumpet in Intertwine‘s work that elevates it well beyond the traffic jam of modern electronic acts trying to ride the coattails of Disclosure and the like. It is obvious evidence of a musicality that many of those other groups lack and it adds such a heartfelt sense of melancholy to their grooves and washes of atmosphere. The trumpet is only a small part of this fine production but just listen for how it turns this song from merely great to absolutely masterful.

If you like what you hear, and you live in the Los Angeles area, this trio will be playing as part of Culture Collide next month.
