Hardcore can get a little too mopey at times. A little too full of angst and ennui and all the feels as whatever group is playing wallows aggressively in their collective misery. There is a touch of that to be had in the work of Grieved. Somehow, though, the Swedish group makes that dark cloud overhead seem manageable, if not kind of welcome. It’s everything to do with their smart sense of dynamics, and their willingness to ease up on the throttle. Or at least to ease their foot off of your throat enough to let you get a little air in your lungs before they continue to pummel you. Press play on this new track from the group, taken from their upcoming debut full-length, out on January 22nd via Prosthetic Records, and see if you feel the same.
