Oslo indie punkers Dark Times are back with the release of the single Dirt, which went live today on all major digital platforms.
First heard in 2014 when their debut album “Give” earned them a nomination for a Spellemannprisen (the Norwegian equivalent of a Grammy), the abrasive punkers surprised no one when they became the first Norwegian band ever to be profiled in the American punk-rock bible Maximum Rocknroll.
Look for Dirt in physical form on the A-side their upcoming EP set for release on March 24, which will also include exclusive covers of songs by punk legends The Melvins and Wipers. You can pre-order it from Oslo label Sheep Chase Records here: http://www.sheepchaserecords.com/product-page/dark-times-dirt-7 The video for Dirt, which features a froth-mouthed, rabid woman staggering through industrial Copenhagen, was released into the wild yesterday.
Pretty sure Dark Times will be playing Dirt and other gems from “Give” at SXSW music in Austin, TX next month, as someone with clever tastes had the foresight to approve them for official showcases. But, if you can’t make it to SXSW, don’t fret. We’ll be there covering the Nordic music shows on our website and social media accounts, so be sure to connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube from March 13-19, 2017 to vicariously experience excellent live Nordic music.
