Just Like Yesterday, the latest single from Swedish/Icelandic duo Baula, is a vibrant, jangly, shoe-gazing animal. Both sweet and tangy, restrained and balls-out, the song glides in like a noisy, uncertain kitten and grows into a confident, pouncing lion. It reminds us of Danish bands The Raveonettes and The Foreign Resort, which is a very high compliment in our humble opinion.

This is only the second single Baula have released (check out Don’t Bother, born in May 2016) despite becoming a band just before Iceland Airwaves 2015 to play 11 gigs during the festival’s run, so we know they have loads of music to share with us. We look forward to hearing news of their debut album in the near future because we would like to pet it and take it home with us.
