Yes, friends…the holiday season is upon us. And for as much as we eye the world through a lens of suspicion and occasionally cynicism, we are not immune to the charms of the lights, the tinsel, and, of course, the music of Christmas.

That said, if you’re anything like us, you know that finding some honest-to-goodness wonderful sounds for the season can be a challenge. That’s where we come in. We have put together a humble little playlist of Nordic holiday tunes for you and yours to enjoy. And as you’ll see from the tracks we’ve chosen, we’re not digging into the traditional fare but rather digging on the more modern take on the Christmas spirit, including the music of Red Sleeping Beauty, Elliphant, The Raveonettes, Mew, The Knife, Of Monsters and Men, First Aid Kit, Satellite Stories, Team Me, and everyone’s favorite Icelandic chanteuse Björk…plus many more.

This isn’t a definitive playlist by any means, as we grabbed the tunes we know and love. If you know of a song or songs from the Nordic nations that merit inclusion on our playlist, leave us a comment here or on our Facebook page. We’d love your input.

And while we’ve got your attention: HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
